Ranger
Ranger, like many black dogs, was passed by for months at KCHS by potential families. Shelters often refer to this as “Black Dog Syndrome”, when black dogs are overlooked when it comes to adoption. Although he was friendly, neutered, and heartworm negative, potential adopters kept passing him by. After a few months of waiting patiently for a home, a rescue stepped up and took Ranger in.
On Valentine’s Day, a sweet family decided to go check out their local rescue just to look around. That day, they fell in love with a sweet black dog who caught their eye. Ranger got the brand new life he deserved. His new family posted the following: "It has been a little over a week since adoption day, and Ranger feels like he’s always been with and a part of our family! His favorite spot, that isn’t on or near my lap, is the window in the living room. He’s very smart, loves to walk, loves to play with the kids, and is thriving! Ranger is very loved and I’m so happy we decided ‘to go and check it out’ on Valentine’s Day, because we brought home a piece of our heart we didn’t know was missing!" Happy Tails, Ranger!
