Jax

Jax goes home!!

JAX...

“They say you can’t change a dog’s past, but you could rewrite his future!”

That is exactly what the Alti family did for one of our “Old Timers” Jax.  Jax came to us on April 9, 2021, having been surrendered by his owner.  Heartbroken, Jax patiently waited for his forever family to come.  Jax, a two-year-old Retriever/Mix, spent his time at the shelter playing with other dogs, all the while hoping that one day a family would walk in and fill his heart full of love again.

Jax also received the honor of being Kershaw County Sheriff’s department K9 of the month for August and little did Jax know this honor would change his life forever.  On August 23, 2022 William Alti and his family (who secretly had been following Jax on our website) saw Jax’s presentation with the Sheriff’s department and that sealed the deal, they knew at that moment they had to come get Jax and bring him home.  That is exactly what they did and Jax, after over 500 days with us, finally found his forever home.

Now Jax spends his days playing, loving on the Alti family’s daughter, who has clearly become his person, and he sleeps in a comfy bed snuggled next to his new family.  We couldn’t be happier for Jax.  Your Kershaw County Family wishes you a long and happy life.  To the Alti family, we here at Kershaw County Humane Society want you to know...

You’re Saving More Than One Life!

It goes without saying that when you adopt a rescue pet, you’re saving a life—but you’re actually saving more than one. By adopting, you’re helping make space for another animal in need and helping to give them the opportunity to become beloved pets.
